The 13th National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction of "CCID Environmental Cup" was held at Chongqing University from August 27th to August 30th. A total of 6 entries were awarded the first prize and 3 entries were awarded the third prize. Therefore, our school won the Outstanding Organization Award again, which has been awarded for 13 consecutive years.

The " National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction" is sponsored by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education. It is an important measure taken by the Ministry of Education to implement the “National Action Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction”, and it is also an important part of the Ministry of Education’s “Action Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction in Schools”. The competition fully embodies the theme of "energy saving, emission reduction, green energy", closely centering on the national energy and environmental policies, and closely integrating the major national needs. Under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education and the active collaboration of major colleges and universities, the characteristics of running competitions with a high starting point, large scale, many fine products and wide coverage have been formed. It has become a oriented, demonstrative and mass-oriented national college student competition, and it is one of the most influential annual extracurricular practice activities for students across the country.
A total of 425 colleges and universities signed up for this competition. A total of 4138 works were received in the preliminaries. After expert review, 672 works were awarded the third prize. 219 works from 112 colleges and universities entered the final stage. To cope with the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the competition innovatively adopted an "online + offline" evaluation method. Nearly a thousand students participated online in physical exhibitions, group defenses and other links, and experts discussed scoring offline. Participating students showed themselves and communicated with each other after the instructor and review experts carefully commented and discussed. During the preparation for the competition, Prof. Feng Yanhui, Prof. Xia Dehong, and Prof. Wang Qunhui guided the whole process online, communicated with students in a timely manner, and encouraged participating students to take seriously and actively respond, and to play their due level in the competition.
It is reported that the school attaches great importance to this competition, and instructs the Academic Affairs Office, the Asset Management Office and the colleges to cooperate closely to provide a solid guarantee for the participating teams to exchange and discuss, produce works, conduct experiments, and prepare for competitions. The School of Energy and Environmental Engineering is responsible for the overall preparation and organization and coordination of the competition. Under the careful guidance of the instructors of each team, the participating students overcome the inconvenience caused by the epidemic, study at home, study and make devices, and finally achieve excellent results in the finals.
