From November 18th to 19th, 2017, the 12th University Environmental Courses Forum was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Prof. Lin Hai (the Party Secretary of the Seee) and Prof. Tang Xiaolong (Deputy Dean), together with representatives from the DoEE (Song Bo, Chen Huilun, Dong Yingbo, Cheng Shikun, Zhou Yuansong, Cao Suzhen, Zhao Shunzheng, Gao Fengyu) participated in the forum. Participants at the conference included more than 800 teachers from 170 universities and colleges including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Tongji University. The conference conducted experience exchange and discussions on issues related to the teaching of environmental courses. The number of participants has reached the highest.

The annual meeting was sponsored by the China Association of Higher Education and organized by Jiangnan University. On the theme of “curriculum, teaching materials, and methods”, the forum focused on the teaching content and curriculum system construction achievements in the practice of environmental talents training, exchanged reforms and innovations in curriculum teaching methods and teaching methods, and hoped to promote the development of online open courses and textbooks. Prof. Lin Hai and Associate Prof. Dong Yingbo made speeches at parallel sessions.

The DoEE has participated in the forum for many years. In recent years, more than ten people attended the forum each year, reflecting that the DoEE attach importance to undergraduate education and teaching. The Environmental Engineering undergraduate education with the characteristics of mining and metallurgy in the DoEE has been recognized by other universities. In the future, the DoEE will further carry out various exchange activities to promote the quality of undergraduate education and teaching.
