Xianfang YUE is an Associate professor in Bio-medical & Thermal Engineering, School of Energy & Environmental Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, China. Xianfang has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal papers and 1 book in Chinese, 1 book in English (in publication) and 2 books chapters in the field of Neuro Engineering & Bioinformatics, mainly on the theoretical framework of neuroscience describe the bonding point of human behaviour and skull-brain structure, three-dimensional constructional space how neuroscientific discoveries can constrain and guide models of human behaviour, brain mechanism of rational and irrational behaviour; electrode and circuit design, closed loop control, brain-FSI-skull interfacing and modelling, dynamic brain mapping to optimization through identifying individualized biomarkers of disease, mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of neuromodulation in neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions using modelling and functional imaging techniques, and intracranial interventions that optimize current therapies in existing patient populations, implement new approaches and techniques, explore new targets, and define new disease populations. She has obtained 4 national patents of invention, and owned 1 item of the second Award of the Provincial science and technology progress. She has received major grants from the European Commission, the National Natural Science Fund, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and the medical device.

· Engineering Thermodynamics
Dr Xianfang Yue is an experienced teacher for university students, with her main area of teaching in fluid-Solid Interaction underlying the therapeutic effects of neuromodulation, engineering thermodynamics and biorheology from 2007 to 2015. Typically she teaches to large classes of around 400 students. She has developed an innovative approach to teaching and conducting research with graduates and undergraduates through creating and presenting course materials in both laboratory and classroom settings. In her experience the best teaching involves concrete, hands-on examples, so she engages students in her courses by encouraging the maximum laboratory participation and research practice possible. Students gave a high evaluation to her courses. She was part of the team that won the title of “Outstanding teaching team on the mass and heat transfer course in Beijing” in 2010 and the Excellent Educational Materials in Beijing by participated in editing professional practice course of thermal energy and power engineering in 2011.
In addition, there are 34 undergraduate and 7 graduate students have carried out the energy-saving research under Dr Xianfang Yue’s supervision.
