Fu Rui:Make your dream fly
She is Furui from the department of Environmental Engineering, School of Energy and Environment, USTB. During her three years at USTB, she has gained growth, laughter, tears, honor and lessons, which are precious treasures in her life. Meanwhile, she has been recommended for graduate study in University of Science and Technology Beijing, and her story with USTB will follow.
Her academic performance is excellent currently, she ranked fifth from 110 students in her department, and in her freshman year, she got second place, and also got the People's special scholarship. Parallel to this, she took an active part in several disciplines competitions. Due to her logical thinking ability and hard work, she has won various awards; in the 10th session of National University Student Mathematics competition she won a second prize, in the 29th Beijing Math competition won a second prize, and also in the National College Students English competition got a second prize. She has also been awarded honorary titles as "Outstanding Merit Student" and "Outstanding Student Cadre". She's always on her way keeping going forward.
In order to enrich herself with knowledge, she minored in financial engineering and achieved excellent results. She did her best to learn more while studying her major in Environmental Engineering, knowing that she has to work under pressure and because of her strong ability she was capable of doing whatever she needs to do fulfill her knowledge desire. In addition, she also successfully passed the written examination of the teacher qualification certificate. ‘Challenge yourself and discover your limitless potential’ is her motto.
During her sophomore year, she participated in the research project on “Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria repair soil heavy metal pollution” in the Student Research Training Program. This is the first time she involved herself with scientific research and feels the charm of scientific research. In the laboratory she learned various techniques; such as how to screen strains and determine the soluble phosphorus content, and heavy metal removal rate. Moreover; she also learned dealing with data and analysis. Finally they have successfully finished the research project.
In her junior year, she participated in the 13th session of the National College Students' Social Practice and Technological competition on energy saving and emission reduction. She worked in a team with six members and they won the first prize at the national level. Her team designed a bicycle with portable mechanical refrigeration unit using the waste of mechanical energy when bicycle traveling in the process of cooling, and making the function of bicycles tend to diversification. She participated in the brainstorming responsible for writing works of declaration, specification, patent book, making PPT and acting as the final reporter. She learned how to think independently and felt the charm of teamwork, felt the true meaning of "one eye can't see far, a thousand eyes can see through the sky". Although they were going through many failures during the whole process, but finally they succeeded and got good results.
