Zhao Yuying is a female who was born in October 1999 in her hometown Luohe, Henan Province and she is from the Han ethnic group. Now she is a senior student majoring in Environmental Engineering at the School of Energy and Environmental Engineering (SEEE) in USTB. Zhao has won many awards like; the national encouragement scholarship, the BHT environmental scholarship, the people's scholarship, a straight ‘A’ grade student of USTB, outstanding communist youth league cadre of USTB, a model of dormitory leader, and so on. During her college time, she has been devoted to her studies and attained high marks in many courses. Because of her high academic performance, presently she is ranked fourth among 110 students in her major. Now she has been successfully recommended to go to the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of Fudan University for further education.

Zhao has been strict with herself with the school motto of "truth and innovation" since she was a freshman. She is diligent in her study and her academic record has been steadily rising. Due to her enthusiasm for her major, she also actively participated in various scientific research activities in her spare time. When she was a freshman, she assisted her tutor to translate some English specialized materials. Then during her sophomore year, she participated in the Student Research Training Program "Research on Scaling Mechanism of Vacuum Toilet Drainage Pipe". Through reading relevant literature, carrying out project research, and designing the experiment she got systematic research training. In her junior year, she took part in the National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction. To solve the problems of large output and low recovery of waste fabrics, her team has invented a device producing ethanol from hydrolyzing and separating waste polyester-cotton fabrics with trace acid catalysis based on subcritical hydrolysis. Finally, their entry won the first prize at the school level. Besides, she has published one paper in Renewable Energy and translated a long abstract, which was included in the Journal of Environmental Sanitation Engineering.

She is a positive person and likes to try something new. She used to be an exchange student at the South China University of Technology for half a year and left a beautiful memory. She also took part in some social practice to enrich her after-school life. For example, she has worked in the social practice and volunteer service center and the student TV station. She has also worked as an assistant in the social practice course, a volunteer in the Beijing-Hong Kong training camp, and an administrative assistant in the admissions office.

In sum, she is a student with comprehensive development and she thinks there is no ending for learning. So she will keep staying hungry and staying foolish to achieve her dreams.
