I am Emmanuel Alepu Odey from Nigeria. In September 2015, like every other enthusiastic student, I came to the beautiful USTB Campus to study for a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering. Within the period of four years that I have studied here, I have published 22 articles, including 17 first authors, 9 SCI articles, 2 SSCI articles, and 6 other International journals. In 2018, I won the first prize of the CSC Excellent International Student Award. In the same year, I was nominated for the Top Ten Academic Stars of USTB Award, nominated for the President’s Gold Medal Award in 2019 and won the first-prize of USTB Outstanding International Student Award for two consecutive years, as well as other prestigious awards. During the period of my studies, I served as the leader of the international students in my research group and the editor of three environmental engineering journals. I have lectured at several International Environmental Technology Conferences and participated in several campus activities during my studies here. I graduated successfully in June 2019 and got my Ph.D degree, and was awarded The Honorary Title of The Excellent Graduating International Student Award.  Coming to USTB for my studies, I knew that it is just another starting point in my life, another place where dreams can be achieved, so I placed academic excellence as my top priority. Thus, research, experiments, and publication became my hobby. To the young researchers enrolled into the School of Energy and Environment, academic research mountain is waiting for you to climb. Perhaps on this road of growth, there will be thorns and bumps. But with hard work and determination, you can achieve your academic dreams. According Denzel Washington "do not aim to fall backward but aim to fall forward". During my studies, I witnessed the tremendous changes that have taken place in USTB. I am deeply proud to have witnessed those changes. Therefore, I would like to thank all the leaders and teachers for their enthusiasm, and thank my alma mater for creating such a strong educational atmosphere for us. As an outstanding aluminum of the university, I wish you all the best and I will also extend my warm hands and give you encouragement and help. I wish all  international students a happy and a  successful academic career. I wish the leadership teachers good health and good job!I wish our USTB a more brilliant tomorrow!
