Duration and Values of Scholarship

Master Degree：2 or 3 years

Doctoral Degree：4 years 

Students who are not proficient in Chinese language can apply for Chinese language studies for 1 year before their major studies. 

Criteria & Eligibility

1, Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2, Applicants must not be studying in Chinese universities at the time of application.

3, Education background and age limit:

Applicants for master degree must have bachelor degree and be under the age of 35.

Applicants for doctoral degree must have master degree and be under the age of 40. 

Application Deadline

April 15th, please make sure mail materials arrive before deadline.

Apply in the online system, then send all documents to International Student Center, USTB.

Note: Incomplete application materials or no application fee will be not processed.

Two copies of application materials are required, one Original of Notarized and one Duplicate. (Application materials and fee will not be returned.)

2, Application Form. Login the application system and submit information, then print;

3, Degree Certificates (Bachelor and Master), must be the Original of Notarized in Chinese or English;

Note: Students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date, then submit the degree certificate later if admitted;

4, Official Transcripts (Bachelor and Master) up to the present, including courses taken and standard achieved, must be the Original of Notarized in Chinese or English;

5, A Personal Statement, above 800 words for master, and above 1500 words for doctorate, must be in Chinese or English;

6, Two Recommendation Letters from your referees, including their contacts, must be the Original in Chinese or English;

The referees should be professors or associate professors. At least one of them should have knowledge of your recent academic work;

7, A copy of your Language Test Result;

a) Chinese-taught program: HSK level 5 (masters) or 6 (doctorates);

b) English-taught program: IELTS 6 points or above; IBT 80 points or above;

8, One Photocopy of Passport;

9, Health Certificate;

10, Application Fee 600rmb (pay in the application system or in the office);

11, Acceptance Letter from supervisor (Optional);

12, Table of contents and abstracts of your academic publications and any other original achievement in your field (Optional);

Admission Result

International student center will declare the result of successful candidates on the website at the end of June, then send out admission letters in July. Please fulfill the application form with detailed mail address and post code or other receiving methods.
