Recently, the general office of the Ministry of Education released the list of national first-rate undergraduate major construction sites in 2019 and the majors of energy and power engineering and environmental engineering of our school were selected successfully.

The major of energy and power engineering has national excellent teachers, Beijing famous teachers, Beijing example of teachers' morality and Beijing excellent teaching team, etc. and owns high-quality characteristic curriculum resources, including national top-quality courses, national bilingual demonstration courses, national top-quality resource sharing courses, high-quality undergraduate courses in Beijing universities, Beijing top-quality courses, MOOC courses, cutting-edge seminar courses, foreign experts series lectures, etc. 3 national teaching achievement awards and more than 10 Beijing teaching achievement awards have been received since 2000. Several teaching and research bases have been built, such as Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction for Metallurgical Industry, Beijing Higher Institution Engineering Research Center of Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection, Discipline Innovation Base for Industrial Energy Conservation and Energy-efficient Economy (Ministry of Education), China University Alliance of Industrial Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Iron and Steel Industry Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Industry Innovation Alliance and so on. We have completed dozens of major national science and technology projects and won many awards including national science and technology progress award. We won more than 100 national invention patents and published more than 600 high-level papers. The total scientific research fund has reached nearly RMB 600 million. The project Environmental Engineering is key discipline of the national “211 Project” and “Platform for National Advanced Disciplines Innovation”, national characteristic specialty construction point. The first-tier discipline of environmental science and engineering was evaluated as B+ in the fourth discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education. It has the right to confer doctor's degree and master's degree in the first-tier discipline of environmental science and engineering and has a post-doctoral mobile station. And it passed the China Engineering Education Accreditation in 2014 and 2017. The graduate degrees have been recognized by Washington Agreement Member States. The first undergraduate international student class was held in 2018 in response to the “one belt, one road” strategy. At present, there are 37 full-time teachers, 21 of whom have studied abroad, many of whom have won the titles of "ten thousand plan leaders", "Beijing Famous Teachers", "Young and Middle-aged Leading Talents in Science and Technology Innovation" or "One Hundred Leading Talents in Science and Technology Beijing". National International Cooperation Base on Environment, Energy and Beijing Key Laboratory of Resource-oriented Treatment of Industrial Typical Pollutants and other research platforms have been built. In recent five years, it has undertaken more than 200 scientific research projects and won more than 20 national and provincial awards. The total scientific research fund has reached over RMB 150 million. Students have made many achievements in scientific and technological innovation and subject competitions, with a participation rate of 90%. In the past five years, more than 1,000 undergraduate students won awards in national, provincial and ministerial competitions, including more than 50 Grand or first prize. In the future development, the Institute will continue to carry out Xi Jinping's new socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics, Xi Jinping's ecological civilization and general secretary, Xi Jinping's important exposition on energy revolution, serve the strategic needs of China's energy revolution and ecological civilization construction, and always adhere to the basic task of cultivating talents with morality and strive for the overall revitalization of undergraduate education, the improvement of talent cultivation ability of colleges and universities, the realization of the connotative development of higher education, and the realization of the beautiful Chinese dream of blue sky, green earth and clear water.
