Forum of Environmental Experts: Prof. Joachim Behrendt from Hamburg University of Technology, Germany
On the morning of March 15, 2018, at the invitation of the SEEE, Dr. Joachim Behrendt from Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) conducted an academic report entitled “Introduction to Biofilm Technology for Wastewater Treatment” in Room 1020 of the Jidian Building. Teachers and students majored in Environmental Science and other related disciplines participated in this symposium.

In the speech, Dr. Joachim Behrendt shared the principle of using biofilm technology to treat sewage and the material transfer model in biofilm. After that, he introduced the working principle and process flow of biofilm reactors and the common operating parameters of different reactors. Through this academic report, the participants have a better understanding of the basic principle and practical operation of sewage treatment using biofilm technology. We also admire the profound academic foundation and rich technical experience of Dr. Joachim Behrendt. We have realized the necessity and importance of combining theory with practice in modern scientific research. After the speech, the participants asked questions and discussed with Dr. Joachim Behrendt.
